Anabin Printout "Degree" - what this? Why do you need it?
Let us assume you have a bachelor of management degree, issued by a private institution in Moscow.
Now our job is to find out if there is an equivalent for your degree in the Anabin database. Step 1 - go to Anabin, then Hochschulabschlüsse -> Suchen
First of all go to Anabin website. Click on the Hochschulabschlüsse in the upper left corner. (Screenshot 1). Then click the tab Suchen nach Abschlüssen (screenshot 2).
Click on the Alle Länder (All countries). The list of countres you can find under the green writing Suchen nach Abschlüssen (screenshot 2).
Now choose the country - in our example it's Russia. Click on the relevant letter (R) and tick the box near "Russische Föderation". Click on Länderauswahl bestätigen (Confirm country selection, screenshot 3).
Find the number of results in the lower right corner. Instead of 10 results per page, choose 100 results per page. It makes the evaluation of the results more comfortable.Step 3 - select the degree
Once you have selected the country, the search starts automatically. Since all the types of degrees are displayed by default, you can now specify your search.
In my case I put the word "menedzment"* and voila! - the first result I see is bakalavr (menedzment)Step 4 - learn details about your degree
Press the plus symbol (first column on the table, screenshot 4). A pop-up window will open.
Here you see that pop-up window in German (screenshot 5.1) and in English (screenshot 5.2) for a better overview.
You can also print this summary. To do so, click on the printer icon (on the pop-up right side above).Step 5 - print the anabin statement OR contact ZAB
Check out, if your degree corresponds to the German one. There are 2 conditions that must be
a) The name of the degree is available in the Anabin database;
b) The degree was acquired in one of the listed institutions.
In our case "a) condition" already available, because the qualification on the diploma corresponds exactly to the qualification on the Anabin list.
Now let's look at the "b) condition" - institutions, where you can get that particular degree. We look in the section "Lending institutions"**. For better overview I recommend to print the content of this pop-up window (s. screenshots 6.1 and 6.2).
Anabin Printout "Degree"
Since our degree was issued by a Moscow educational institution, we are now looking under the listed institutions in Moscow. And... already the first result looks very similar.
Compare the institution on the diploma (Institut gosudarstvennogo administrirovanija) with the institution on the Anabin list (Institut delovogo administrirovanija).
Qualification designation and institution name on the diploma must match exactly with ones, stated on the Anabin database.
No exact match? Then very likely that ZAB evaluation will be necessary.
Conclusion for our evaluaton of Bachelor of Management degree.
The first condition (the qualification designation - bakalavr (menedzment)) is fullfilled.
Finally the Institut gosudarstvennogo administrirovanija couldn't be found on the Anabin list.
The second conditon (issuing that particular qualification by one of the institutions listed on the Anabin) was not fullfilled.
In this case you need to apply to the ZAB for evaluation of your qualification (in other words: to
the Statement of Compatibility for your degree).
Hint: look at articles announced below.
** - "Lending institutions" is just an (akward) translation by Google. I would translate it verleihende Institutionen rather as "awarding institutions".
